If you've checked us out and want to take your spiritual journey to the next level...consider connecting in a small group. When God gave Jesus the mission of reaching the world with the Good News of His love and grace, Jesus employed a world-changing strategy: He poured His life into a small group (His disciples). Life change happens in small groups. Small groups can offer you the chance to:
Grow deeper in your relationship with God
Connect with others in the NLC community
Expand your vision of what God can do through and in your life
The early church also provided a model of world-changing community - meeting and sharing together daily in the course of their everyday lives:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, tothe breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
It is an opportunity for ten to twelve people to connect on a weekly basis. This type of group allows spiritual, emotional and relational growth to take place as the group reads, prays and discusses the application of God’s Word in their lives. Each group has trained leaders that facilitate and encourage group conversation.
Small Group meetings usually last one to two hours and consist of friendly conversation, prayer, discussion, and refreshments. Each group selects its own topic to be discussed. Most conversations follow an established discussion guide which begins with an ice breaker question, followed by a series of discussion questions and a reflection question to apply the biblical text to your life.
